About CWS

Our Approach towards solidarity

CWS is continuing its work with and for women and children, dalits, adivasis, minorities and small and marginal farmers as priority groups. Livelihoods, Human Dignity, and People Centered Good Governance are considered as three main thematic areas that contribute to the overall well being of the marginalized sections of the society. Human dignity is based on a rights based framework as enshrined in the constitution for women, dalits and adivasis. Human dignity is closely related to livelihoods, especially in the context of food and nutritional security of the marginalized sections as well as their inclusiveness in the local governance mechanisms.

We Are Not for Profit Organization (NPO)

Centre for World Solidarity (CWS) draws its intent, inspiration and direction from the Gandhian ideology led by Late Shri. V. Krishnamoorthy and followed by Shri. M.V. Sastri. CWS was registered as a Trust under Indian Trust Act in 1992. Yet, its roots can be traced to the Berlin-based Action for World Solidarity (ASW), to its more than three decades of experience in India, as a small resource agency, assisting development work. CWS has made a significant headway working in league with other Voluntary Organisations, governmental agencies, academic/research institutions and also as direct implementer in addressing issues relating to human wellbeing, livelihoods and local governance. CWS’ focus is on helping the underprivileged and marginalized sections (especially women, Dalits, Adivasis). CWS’ Central Office is located in Hyderabad and implements projects across the States of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar through its state units.

Our Donors

CWS relies on its donor partners to build equal contribution to international development efforts. Every contribution helps. CWS is a donor mechanism of like-minded partners who work together to share expertise, coordinate actions, and raise the profile of disability across a broader range of organisations.
