Project Objective / Overall Goal and Expected Results

Overall goal:All Dalit and marginalized communities including women and children in the selected villages in Telangana region have improved food security status by adopting integrated and holistic approach on livelihoods

Objectives

To sensitize and capacitate the Dalit and the marginalised communities on issues related to food security and livelihoods

To enhance and promote quality livelihoods of the Dalit and marginalised communities.

Advocacy and Lobby with Government for effective implementation of various govt. schemes in 15 villages from 3 Districts of Telangana region

Results

15 Farmer clubs will be formed and linkages will be established with the Government and likeminded departments

180 monthly meetings will be organised in 15 villages to sensitise 300 people including PRIs, on various Government schemes like, NREGS, PDS, ICDS/ Mid day meals, Drinking Water, health, agriculture and livelihood, etc and 50 of them will access Government schemes

3 grain banks will be established in 3 villages, so that the poor and marginalised farmers will have access to grain in time and with sufficient quantity and quality

To increase the income about 30 families will be supported for the purchase of sheep / goat /poultry under livestock promotion

To promote Kitchen/ vegetable gardens 30 families will be supported with seeds. These families will be have accessed to nutritious food to improve their health status and at the same time the expenditure on food consumption is reduced

To promote organic cultivation support will be extended to Compost pits and Jeeva Amrutham, 30 farmers will be benefitted with this

To promote SRI cultivation 3 sets of Weeder & Marker will be provided and about 30 farmers’ able to utilise the available resources effectively with less production cost
