Number and names of the villages, block, district and targeted community etc.
Location 1: At Lohardaga district (19 villages of 3 Panchayats- Karki, Nawadih and Parehat in Kisko Community Development Block).
Total population of this project location is 16,856 (3081 households) of which 8587 are male and 8279 are female. Around 50% of the households are below poverty line. 65% population is Scheduled Tribes (Adivasi- Uraon, Munda) and approximately 15% population consists of Dalits (Scheduled Castes) and rest of the population is from Other Backward Community (OBC).
Location 2: At Saraikela Kharswan District (18 villages of 3 Panchayats- Nadisai, Chimtiya or Gudri and Lepatanr of Ichagarh CDB).
Total population of this project location is 16227 (3231 households) of which 8341 are male and 7886 are female. 6.3% are Dalits and 30% are Adivasi (Bhumij, Santhal and Primitive tribes).
Location 3: At Saraikela Kharswan District (13 villages of 2 Panchayats- Jumal and Bandu of Rajnagar CDB).
Total population of this project location is 5088 (700 households) of which 2635 are male and 2553 are female. 3% are Dalits and 70% are Adivasi (Bhumij, Ho, Santhal and Primitive tribes) and the rest are from OBC (Kurmi, Mandal etc). [Source: 2011 census]

Project Objective / overall Goal and Expected Results:
Overall goal:Strengthening and qualifying Gram Sabha representatives and elected PRI representatives of 2 districts for equitable economic, social and sustainable development, with special consideration of adivasi, dalits, women and children, at 3 model Panchayats in the union state of Jharkhand, with approx.40.000 population
Result 1: Strengthening of capacity of PRI members and Gram Sabhas in terms of roles, responsibility and practices on allocated subjects established
Result 2: Effective Gram Sabhas in 8 Panchayats are functional towards the development for the discriminated population groups (Adivasi, Dalits) and women
Result 3: Transparency and accountability in planning and information dissemination ensured for the rights and entitlements at Local Self Governance Institutions level
Result 4: Networking and Alliance building on Panchayat, block, district and state level contributes to meeting the overall objective
Major achievements till date:
Our past experiences of PEVAC campaign and Panchayat election in Jharkhand compelled us to prepare this plan for the elected Panchayat members in the projected areas. Since the project has just started, the achievements will follow
