CWS is working in 60 tribal villages in Paderu region of Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh with the support of Dignity
Asbl, Luxembourg. Sustainable agriculture practices are promoted to improve production and marketing of products such as barnyard millet, pepper, medicinal plants and other non-timber forest products. Forward linkages have been established for marketing of turmeric, pepper and other medicinal plants. Linkages with central government research organizations have established to improve tribal farmers
capacities. Other income generating activities are also promoted such as backyard poultry and fishery. Farmer’s cooperative has been established through which processing and sale activities are undertaken.
CWS works in 10 villages of 5 Gram Panchayats in Srikakulam district covering 2291 households through implementing partner Mahila Margadarshi (MMD) and in 10 villages of 5 Gram Panchayats in Vijayanagaram district covering 1825 households through implementing partner ROSES. The general objective is to build capacities of elected representatives.
CWS works on empowering Dalits through effective implementation of SC/ST sub-plan across 5 Gram Panchayats in 10 villages in Ravulapalem mandal /block in East Godavari district covering 1500 marginalized households through implementing partner MARPU. Another 1189 families of 8 villages of Gudur mandal /block in Krishna district of AP are supported through implementing partner CRASA.
CWS works towards empowerment of Muslim Minority women and girls across 5 Gram Panchayats in 11 villages of Rayachoti mandal /block in Kadapa district covering 2104 families through implementing partner DROPS. The focus is on sensitization of muslim women of their rights, ensuring livelihood opportunities and health support. Similar activities are implemented in urban area of Kurnool town through our partner SFTTC wherein adolescent muslim girls and women are encouraged to pursue education and vocational skills (designing in tailoring, embroidery and computer education).
The network comprises of 11 partners being facilitated by our partner DAWN. CWS has been working towards civic action for advocating issues of Dalit Women and ensure effective policy implementation in Andhra Pradesh for 1000 families of 6 GPs. The overall objective is to ensure that marginalized communities (Adivasi, dalits, minorities, and women) are re empowered to assert their rights and access justice and entitlements.
CWS has been working towards Empowerment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribe Groups in Andhra Pradesh for about 420 families in 15 PVTG villages in 3 districts (Vishakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari) in AP through implementing network partner TERDS (TERDS is facilitating organization).
CWS works to strengthen capacities of women adolescent girls to address issues relating violence in 10 villages of Pakala mandal /block in Chittoor district of AP through implementing partner WINS. The objective is to increase abilities of women to address gender violence by strengthening IKYA committees by involving police, health and other government departments. Another objective is to enable young girls and boys in schools and colleges to understand gender based violence and redressal mechanism.
CWS works towards ensuring that the relief and rehabilitation package is effectively implemented to benefit the displaced 7352 families of Polavaram Project in 75 villages of East and West Godavari districts of AP through ADRF Network. The network consists of 8 partner fellows. Facilitating organization is PRAKRUTHI Social Service Society.
The objective is to improve productivity of farming systems, increase household income and on-farm and off-farm employment in 10 villages of 4 mandals /Blocks of three districts i.e. Kurnool, Chittoor and Nellore districts through implementing partners namely, PRDS, DINAKAR, PPT & REMEDE, This initiative is supported by AEIN, Luxembourg.
